Question:

Does John Frieda Chestnut to Expresso Gloss stain your hair?

I have medium, dark brown hair and have been debating on buying this product. My hair is fine and long, and is it's normal natural color. I don't want to permanently dye my hair if you know what I mean. I am just looking to deepen the color a bit and add some shine to it. The catch is I don't know if after I used this product and wanted to stop using it, if my hair would fade back to it's natural color like now, if I didn't like it. Does anyone know anything about this?? I had a lady who used to cut my hair and she had dyed it a few years ago, a hair darker which looked great and she said what she used would fade out to my natural color in about 4-6 weeks and it wouldn't hurt my hair like dying-dying it. Would this be like the glaze?? I need some advice : )

  1. I'm not sure how it works but it makes my hair looks more red, and to me it definitely has that color smell in it. I would just skip it if your wanting a dramatic change, because its not dramatic enough to really tell a difference and in my opinion it made my hair feel more dry.

  2. He makes a clear, colorless gloss, too.  My hair is light brown, and it works wonderfully for me.  I honestly can't say if the Chestnut stains hair, but I've been using the clear for several months now with no problems.
