  1. Just makes me wonder if he is taking this election seriously.

  2. No.  And it is not because Sarah Palin is inexperienced.  She seems like a lovely woman and, with time, may even be able to compete against Hillary Clinton.

But the underlying reason why John McCain selected Sarah Palin as his running mate demonstrates poor judgement on his part.  He selected her after meeting her only once and with extremely limited information about her experience (which is normal since she has pratically none, except for very local government posts).

McCain passed over much stronger, much more impressive potential vice president for the only reason that he wanted to attract the 18 millions Hillary supporters.  This will not happen.

And, although Sarah seems like a very special person with great potential, part of her "attraction" to the Republican party (or at least to McCain) is her image as the "perfect mother" thus reinforcing the "family values" so dear to the Republican party (and to most of us).  However, if Sarah Palin was true to family values, she wouldn't even consider taking a job such as the potential vice presidency with a developmentally disable infant depending on her.  There is nothing wrong with being a career woman.  But don't try to pretend you are the perfect mother if your career is more important than your disabled child.

  3. I think he looks like a fool now more then ever...

First off, he wanted to bash Obama for not having enough Federal Government experiance and now the chick that he just pulled into this has NONE...

Second, It is way more then obvious that the ONLY reason why he put a woman for his VP is so he can rack in some Hillary voters... he is a copycat and wants to look as though he is just as open minded as the liberal party... "look"

Third, How can she be the VP when she is only 34 years old, if my memory serves me right to be the president of the US you have to be 35 years old along with other requirements like natural born and so on... im shocked the media isnt questioning that yet... what if McCain kicks the bucket two days after elections IF he wins??

  4. You know, I think so. It's kinda weird why would he choose the Gov. from Alaska. I think he wants to win all Clinton's women votes, that way he can win. Smart move, I think. But I hope Americans realize that is not about voting to have the first female VP in history. We gotta think smart. Yet again, I wouldn't be surprised if some percentage of women--especially from Clinton's supporters--vote for McCain just because he has a woman running with him for the White House.

It's interesting to hear about Palin's background. A mother of 5-6 children, one mentally disabled (sad, though), a woman who won pageantry in back in the day, a mayor back in I don't' know what year of a population of 70,000 people. it seems like she's not well experienced. I mean, she even asked McCain what does a VP do everyday. C'mon, that's rediculous. So much for republicans capping on Obama for lack of experience, huh? Now that's hypocrisy.

I hope we make the right choice.

The right question to bring up. I knew someone had to post it here. Good thinking.

  5. No.  It really calls into question his judgment and senility.

  6. Yes, I was losing hope that he would pick her!  I was SO excited when I heard she was on her way in a chartered plane!

  7. yeah. women need to take a stand on the democrat's being a party of discrimination for so long and vote for the party that ACTUALLY stands up for equality- NOT JUST IN RACE BUT IN GENDER AS WELL.

First its the blacks they enslave.  Then when that didn't work out, in the late 70's they switched to all whites in form of quotas that make it harder for them to get jobs, and give blacks an unfair advantage- secretly making them quote "inferior and in need of special advantages".  Then they started in on Christians.

When they realized that overt racism against any race wasnt going to work, and that Christian morals were one of the big reasons america- and all of europe- stood head and shoulders above the rest of the world in terms of morals, law-abiding, and hard work and invention, they couldnt make fun of christianity either......

so they had to start being prejudicial to women!!!

Hillary DESERVED that nomination, did she not? I mean, the WOMAN was more qualified for the job!  They give women quotas to PRETEND to help them (but when the women get jobs every1 assumes it was cuz of quotas so that secretly hurts them), and then when the DEMS have a legitimate chance of showign they like women....

the party CHEATS AND LIES about what the AMERICAN PEOPLE WANT and got a crappy joe BIDEN instead of hillary clinton!

  8. yes, I'm still voting for Obama, but McCain choosing Palin seriously made me rethink my decision

  9. Not to me, but I hear that Christian Conservatives love her, which is probably why I don't. She opposes abortion  even in the case of rape and incest, and in favor of teaching creationism in public  schools. She is obviously sincere in her beliefs because she just had her fifth child at the age of 44.

  10. Yes it does

  11. I think Palin is a big insult to women, a desperate reach for conservatives, it just really says how bad the numbers are for the GOP. Are Hillary supporters all of a sudden going to change and vote for McCain/Palin just because a women is on a ticket? McCain picked someone who wouldn't seem like a better candidate then him, even he doesn't look comfortable with Palin around him.

  12. It might for Democrats unhappy with their party - of which there are many, believe me.  Denver was crawling with them.

As for me - I already find John McCain appealing - I wanted him for the candidate in 2000.   Sarah Palin is a wonderful icing on the cake.

  13. Absolutely! She a strong woman who knows what she is talking about. People who say she has no experience need to research the reformation she has done for Alaska. She has bettered the economy there among other things. Plus she is no nonsense kinda person who doesn't believe in wasteful luxuries(she auctioned the just she was given for becoming governor of Alaska because it was a waste of money). People need to look at the facts before they start "trying" to make her look unexperienced. So she hasn't been in DC...at least she hasn't taken part in all the corruption and lies that go on there.

    McCain/Palin 2008

  14. It does for anyone with a brain, and hetero males with/without a brain.

  15. Did anyone notice there were only two people of color in the audience at his Ohio/VP announcement today? I could never vote for someone who wants to take away women's' rights.

  16. Not really. She makes him look old, in a way, and she acts like his perky "good side", clapping for HiIlary and Democratic achievemnt while he just kind of stands there.

  17. It did for me. I was votin for him anyway but now he has a real conservative ont he ticket who has a very good record to boot.
