Does Jump Roping Prepare You For Running In Any Way??

When I Can't run on certain days I try to do some jump roping So that I won't just be sitting still and getting off track of my goal.And I Also Use A Gazelle Machine.This is the only exercise equipment I have,Not much But all I have.So Am I doing Any good?

And Does Anyone have any reviews on the Gazelle Machine?

  1. yes it get ur heart rate up a little warm up and after jump rope strech then run


  2. the gazelle is awesome..i used to do it b4 i ever liked running..it helps you get a longer easy stride...and yes jump roping is better than nothing

Jump roping can be really good.  You can practice proper posture and dorsiflexing the ankles.  I would actually prefer this over the Gazelle Machine.  If you have specific training goals i.e. you are running for a team, the Gazelle could actually change your mechanics.  If you are doing this for fitness, then form though important, it is not your primary goal.   On the plus side, it does limit impact on the joints, but if you run correctly the impact is minimized.
