...pardon my french, but as russian i find it rather flattering! ...and now seriously: KGB in their entire history of existence didnt lie as much as US and NATO did, who ever using KGB as an argument against russians think twice

It is time to look again at some of the communist goals:

Capture one or both of the political parties in the US. (which party do you think they infiltrated?)

Use technical decisions of the courts to weaken basic American institutions, by claiming their activities violate civil rights.  (ACLU)

Infiltrate the press and gain control of key positions in radio, TV and motion pictures.  Gain controll of all student newspapers.

Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.

 

Use student riots too foment public protests against programs or organizations which are under Communist attack.

Infiltrate and gain control of more unions.

Infiltrate and gain control of big business.

Infiltrate the churches and replace revealed religion with "social" religion. Discredit the Bible and emphasize the need for intellectual maturity, which does not need a "religious crutch."

Eliminate prayer or any phase of religious expression in schools on the grounds that it violates the principle of "separation of church and state."

Promote the UN as the only hope for mankind. If its charter is rewritten, demand that it be set up as a one world government, with its own independent armed forces.

Eliminate all laws governing obscenity by calling them "censorship" and a violation of free speech and free press.

 

Break down cultural standards of morality by promoting pornography and obscenity in books, magazines, motion pictures, radio, and TV.

Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy."

Continue giving Russia access to the U.S. Patent Office

The KGB is kaput, kind of like the Soviet Union. And how in the h**l would you even know if they lied. My guess they never said anything about anyone they took to the Gulag.

The KGB does not scare me but the US propaganda machine does.  

I'm so sorry for the way Russia has been villified in this conflict with Georgia.  In fact, the Georgians genocided the Russian citizens of South Ossetia with weapons and assistance from the US military.
