I personnally am of the opinion that he is way over ranked because of a few internet video clips. He is nothing more than a street fighter who will find out very fast what MMA is really about. Someone is going to hurt him!!

  1. h**l ya he colud get a titil in no time

  2. the guy kimbo fought was James Thompson, iv seen him fight in the UK a few times. hes fooking ****. has no heart, no chin, no cardio, i honestly think i could beat him and im 5ft 5 inch and 150lbs, lol

Kimbos a joke hes gonna get his *** whooped soon as he fights a rounded MMA fighter, and not even a good fighter just well rounded average joe.

  3. Kimbo is just some big guy who can hit hard. There are fighters in the UFC in lighter weight classes who can hit just as hard as he can, and definitely out grapple him on the ground. Kimbo's manager Bas Rutten is going to keep Kimbo out of the UFC just so that Kimbo can remain king of Elite XC. Kimbo is going to keep on talking about how he's the best fighter in the world without facing any real competition in UFC or Pride, and then he's going to retire. That is what I predict about Kimbo Slice.  He's not the first fighter to do this. There are other fighters who talk about how they are the best, and some fighters say that they can't bear to fight within the 'so-called' limited rules of a larger organization. This is a cop-out, and in order to supposedly stay the best, Kimbo will avoid fighting in the UFC or Pride.

  4. No not yet. He needs to prove himself that he can actually fight. He's just a brawler as of right now. Once he polishes his strikes and ground game he could be better but times not on his time. He's like what in his mid 30s? He should get better especially with Bas Rutten personally training him.

  5. No, he's not UFC material. Yes, a true mixed marital artist could possibly hurt him, if he doesn't get at least a certain level of comfort with the ground game. As far as over ranked, no one has ranked him. He's not on anyone's top 10 list, as far as I know. And the reason his name is out there so much? His company is hyping and promoting around him, to make money. That's business. That isn't Kimbo's idea, and has nothing to do with him. The man's making an honest living, and playing the cards that were dealt to him. Can he become a skillful, solid MMA fighter? I think he can, he has the right trainer. I think Kimbo's best chance to make a splash is in Japan. The fans there will appreciate his image and persona. As long as he delivers competitive fights, he will be loved there, a'la Bob Sapp. Us American fans have a certain image and expectation of what we want in a star, and when someone doesn't live up to that expectation, we cast them out, make fun of them and try to bring them down. The fans are what will bring about Kimbo's demise in the US, not his lack of skill...

  6. Did you see when he did that Saturday night fight on CBS (i think) when he destroyed that guys ear?? His opponent was younger, faster and stronger than him!!  He just needs to learn what to do when he is pinned to the matt.]

EDIT:  I'm just saying that he has fought his way to national (if not worldwide) attention and he should get the same shot as everyone else, to prove that he is worthy of fighting on the UFC stage. Let's see him in a few more matches before you go talking about how he doesn't belong in the UFC.

  7. no i think he would get destroyed bc they guy he fought was beating the sh*t out of him and they didnt stop it and they usually would of but when he punched that dudes ear and it started bleeding they stopped it that was so fixed

  8. haha i really hope that kyle b guy is joking...to consider a win against james thompson a good win is REDICULOUS!!! (jame thompson has lost to just about everyone!!!! except don fry and dan severn who were wayyyy out of their prime).. I would absolutly loveeee to see  kimbo in UFC just so that he can be humbled and shown that he has no talent at all

  9. Now?  No.  He's not ready, nor is anyone else I can think of who's had only 1 year of formal MMA training!

The one thing I can say for Kimbo is that he would have a puncher's chance to win against any MMA fighter in the 1st round, even without any ground game to speak of - and that's a lot more of a chance than most MMA fighters with only 1 year of experience have....

In a few years?  Maybe if he keeps winning fights.

The UFC brings a good product to the ring, but they do a very poor job of giving viewers any of the back-stories of their fighters.  They market their fighters like someone would market cars rather than how someone would market people IMO.

As a viewer and a life long fight fan (though not necessarily a die-hard MMA fan yet...), the UFC gives me little reason to "root" for 1 fighter over another.

Say what you will about the art of fighting, and seeing a good technical fight etc., but I think if the UFC wants to eventually succeed as a mainstream sport (and make the money that comes along with being mainstream), they are going to need fighters like Kimbo - guys with an interesting back-story to cheer for (or against!).  The average fan wants more than just technical information and exhibition - they want a story to follow too IMO.

  10. i say let him fight and see how he does. i mean if he isnt ufc material it'll be pretty easy to tell after a few fights wont it?

  11. I agree with you, his hype is all that hype.  He has not earned a right to fight UFC yet IMO. Not untill he has proven himself more proffesionally not in the streets.

  12. h**l no there are so many ppl in heavyweight that can destroy him without much effort can u imagine him fighting randy couture or nog? hed get obliterated

  13. in ufc days of old, there were alot of walk- on street fighters. it makes for some interesting fights.

  14. he will never be in the ufc. Dana hates him and so do every mma fan that knows anything. He belongs in an org. like elitexc because they'll do anything for ratings.

  15. He is neither ready for the UFC or any big MMA promotion. He has only been training for a little bit over a year and he has shown a severe lack of prowess on the ground. His striking is OK but he will get worked if he tries to throw down someone like Gabriel Gonzaga, Heath Herring, Frank Mir, or Noguiera. He gased in the first round in his fight against James Thompson. If he wants to get to the elite level he needs to seriously work both his striking and his ground game with a large established gym like extreme couture or american top team, or team quest, etc. If he continues to train mainly with Bas Rutten he is going to remain a mediocre fighter that deserve neither the fame nor the fortune he is making from Elite XC.

  16. He could very well beat many UFC® Heavyweights. Can he beat their best [Big Nog]? No. But he has chosen to fight in ELiteXC®, so this fantasy question is silly.

    E

  17. HE IS A JOKE!!

    Kim-Joke Slice..

    UFC?

To be honest they should do away with the heavyweights in the UFC and add Feather weights. But he can't even beat a Brent Rodgers in the XC or a Antioino Silva in  XC bascilly Gray Shaw doesn't want anyone to se Kim-Joke lose on TV cause no one would watch that awful MMA show..

  18. No he does not belong in the UFC  he is a street fighter... and the guy he fought when Elite XC put on there first show on CBS was a no name guy... and prolly just started fighting himself!
