  1. I totally agree with KJV_... Kimbo has a punch and a half.. but thats it.. imagine what a fight between him and Lidell, stratch that.. TIm Sylvia or Fedor Emalienenko would look like?  1 minute KO or submission in under 2 mins.  Kimbo is a brawler and they are touting him out to be the next Tank Abbott old school UFC brawler type, when We all saw last night, He cant go on brawling skills alone.  Thompson pinned him, and was raining down punches and elbows and there was nothing Kimbo could do, he looked absolutely out of his element and lost!

Kimbo should continue though, I have no doubt he can train (with Bas Rutten, who is nasty!) and learn the ground game and the submission holds and step up his BJJ game... but it's not gonna happen overnight and he cant fight any top MMA athletes till he's well schooled in submissions..

Ill give kimbo this however, if and when he does get really comfortable and good at ground game, he will be a good fighter... Id venture to say that his standup game is unparalelled... no one punches like kimbo.

  2. People are going to throw money at him again, and I suppose there will still be some people who are so lacking in knowledge about fighting that they will continue to want to see him. There are also Tito lemmings out there still squawking that Tito was "pushing the action" when he threw about five jabs in the second round last week.

For the poster that says "Kimbo showed he could survive on the ground." That's not true, really. He showed he could survive on the ground against a guy with a very sloppy, undetermined ground game. The guy was throwing dog sh-- shots at Kimbo, just to get him to the ground, and they were working. On the ground, the guy was shockingly bad at isolating and controlling Kimbo's arms in side control--not because Kimbo was doing anything "smart" to protect himself--he wasn't, he was easily getting stuck in side control. I don't have any interest in seeing Kimbo fight again, but if other fools want to pay money to, I am not going to put down Kimbo the person for taking money that will help him feed his family. But I can't believe anybody still wants to pay him big bucks after last night.

  3. He should make all the money he can while he can and save as much as he can because it wont last long you see you can play basketball and football but you cant play fighting Kimbo is nothing more than a new Butter bean do you remember him yesterdays news but I got to give it to the guys who market mma they are doing a masterful job I wish I had thought of it. When your a big black man you have to be better than average white people will not pay to see a average black person do anything and black people know that Kimbo can,t fight there are a lot of guys in the hood that would kick Kimbo *** into next week this is not a joke it is a fact

  4. He should continue, greats like randy Couture, Fedor E, Crocop werent made over night!!! He has talents and attributes that can make him a great champ soon

  5. THAT'S A RHETORICAL QUESTION. OF COURSE HE SHOULD CONTINUE. EITHER HE'S THE BEST ONE DOING IT OR CATS IS LOOSING IT? HE CAME FROM THE STREETS TO THE RING TO PROVE A POINT. WHY HUSTLE ON THE BLOCK WHEN U CAN HAVE THE WORLD? SOME PEOPLE SATISFIED WITH WHAT THEY HAVE AND SOME WANT MORE. I FEEL HIM. YOU HAVE PEOPLE WHO NEVER MET YOU HATING ON U. SO WHAT DO YOU DO, SHOW EM' UP. TO SUM IT ALL UP IF YOU DON'T LIKE WHAT I SAY BUILD A BRIDGE AND GET OVER IT

  6. He probably does, and he's right. The  problem is, the minds behind Elite XC are the ones who are blowing Kimbo up. They are putting pressure on him to perform. The fight last night wasn't what people were expecting, but that's how things go sometimes. We got to see that Kimbo is learning to survive the ground, and his punching power was there. Thompson is the most experienced fighter Slice has faced, he was tested, and he needed to be. For better or worse, Kimbo is here, and he'll stay. For a little while.

  7. Disappointed.

Kimbo could have easily been choke, key locked or been victim of any lower body submission. His opponent was terrible at submission, but nearly got a tap out.

Kimbo has a great punch, that's about it.

He would been tapping or unconscious in under a minute against 12 or more current UFC heavyweights.
