  1. Though it may adhere, if the surface is smooth/slick the paint can easily be scratched off.  You'd have the rough the surface first with a light-grit sandpaper in order to give the paint something to stick to.

    Be sure to test a small, concealed area of the piece first before you paint the entire thing.
