  1. maybe. though mentioning phil in the equation is wishful thinking. phil has lost all his magic. lost to suns 3-2 after leading 2-0. falling 0-2 to celtics and not winning a road game with a very talented team. reports have it able asst tex winters didnt even join final game to boston because he knew lakers would lose. phil overrated. artest overrated and havent even won.

going with same team and developing odom gasol and bynum would be a better deal.

  2. Artest would put them over the top.  He is like a Scottie Pippen on steroids.

  3. Artest would be more like Pippen on the defensive end. If you can compare Dennis Rodman to anyone, it could be maybe, Tyson Chandler or Ben Wallace circa 2004, minus the shot blocking. Rodman was a dominating rebounder and interior defender, Artest is a perimeter defender.

The only reason people compare him to Rodman is because they want Kobe to have his crazy side kick like Jordan had.

What they should have done was keep Caron Butler...he's not Ron Artest defensively, but he is still very good, and offensively he is much better. But hey, they did get Pau Gasol out of Butler, so it evens out a bit.
