  1. Go ahead there should be no problem.  I live in Panama and there is always a considerable of person going to the US to study.  Of course you will have to translate certain information, and you will also have to get it authenticated at the US consulate or get it apostiled, but that's not a major issue.

  2. There are about three or four dozens of US approved schools in all around Colombia. IB (world-wide standard) and  specially SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools ) an American version of IB, which are usually the top-notched schools; the most expensive and most prestigious.

  3. Yes but depends of the country. In the other hand you could bring your children and have a tutor in Latin America, he/she will teach them and she will send the evaluations to your school in USA. Ask also in Consulates of the countries you are interested. The answer us YES mainly!

  4. Yup.

There are several international schools credited either by  USA or by The International Baccalaureate (IB)

You can consult the IB website that includes a school directory (world wide).

You can also check with the American consulate or embassy in Chile as they also work closely with those schools accredited by them.

  5. They sure do, and even if they didn't you would be getting the best education ever. Latin American countries have a great educational system where students really learn about the whole world, contrary to the States, where you only know where a country is when there are political or economical interests, like oil and so on. Chile is one of the most advanced countries where you can live and it is beautiful.
