Does Level II ultrasound also called as 2nd Trimester Ultrasound?

Question

I called up Medical facility to block a slot for my wife's Level II ultrasound. When i said "level II" they didn't understand. They asked me, which trimester is this? and i told 2nd. Then they booked the appointment. But i am afraid whether Level II is same as 2nd trimester ultrasound?

The person who does the booking probably isn't a technician, and would only know that the 2nd trimester ultrasound is much more thorough and a longer appointment-not that it is a level II. :)

i believe that who ever you talked to didnt know what she was talking about lol.. but yeah level II is done in the 2end tri.. I would call and ask the dr that ordered the u/s to make sure they are doing what the dr ordered..

Also i agree nice to see the hubby making the appointment :)

They're confused. A level II ultrasound is a special kind of ultrasound to specifically look at blood flow of the vessels, etc. It's not just a regular second trimester scan. You should call them back to clarify.

Usually the Level II sonogram is done in the 2nd trimester so don't worry. It's nice to hear a husband calling for his wife, good for  you!
