Does Limewire carry a virus?

Question

I am thinking about getting Limewire. I had Bearshere on my other computer and it gave me a virus. But does Limewire? And, is it available on Mac?

If it is available on a Mac then I will put it on my Mac when I get it in a week or two.

not so sure about viruses but it bombards your computer with spyware i WOULD NOT get it if i were  you.... i just download music off amazon for 99 cents per song..... idk if its available for mac or not.

Lime wire does not have viruses but a lot of the programs it find do especially those under 2mb Yo need an anti virus program to stop them from your computer

I use Zonealarm Anti virus suite stops them every time

All the computers I have fixed (re-format because of spyware/adware) so far this summer (six in total) had Limewire on it.  I don't think Limewire ITSELF carries a virus, I'm assuming as long as you downloaded it from the right source, but the programs/applications that you download FROM IT, may carry them (that was the case on the computers I "fixed")

Yes it does.

Since you are downloading songs from other people

getting a virus is possible.

I had a friend that once broke his iPod from limewire.

So, I wouldn't download it if i were you.

It is avaible in Mac

Limewire by itself is safe. What you download using it may not be.

its not limewire that has virus its what you download about 99% of the music files are infected with spyware/adware/virus and other S**t

it scares the S**t of me because I lost my last computer because of limewire

got a new computer and never looked back to limewire and its illegal if you want free music do it own your risk and you could end up in jail! because of the DMR which i think stand for !Digital Music Rights!  and you lose your computer too or you have to pay $$$ to get it repaired just use itunes other companies like amazon also other people will tell

"its safe" or "I had it for years with no problems" or "had no problems with it" and on on on
