Does Lockett have a chance to go 12 rounds with Pavlik or will he get knocked out?

And do you think Pavlik could possibly move up and fight Calzaghe if he demolishes Lockett or are there other good middleweight challengers that Pavlik must prove his merit against?

I really can't see him going 12 rounds with a dangerous puncher like Kelly Pavlik.  Gary Lockett has done nothing to be a mandatory challenger for a world title, but then again, you can NEVER trust the sanctioning bodies for accurate rankings.  I see Pavlik winning by a mid rounds stoppage.

I would love to see Pavlik move up and challenge Joe Calzaghe, but I know that it won't happen.  Pavlik is WAY too much of a dangerous opponent for Calzaghe.  I really think that Joe will have one more fight against Roy Jones, Jr. before he retires and if he does fight after that, I highly doubt that he'll face Pavlik.  The only other middleweights that I would like to see Pavlik face are; Arthur Abraham and/or Winky Wright.  Abraham is a good, strong fighter like Pavlik (but not as good in my opinion) and I would like to see him get a shot at Kelly, even though I think that he'd lose.  Wright is another good fighter who deserves another shot because he has not yet lost a fight at middleweight.  He fought a draw against Jermain Taylor for the title, and I think that he deserves another shot.  Other than those two, there's really no other competition for him, and I honestly don't think that anyone can beat him at 160 pounds currently.  Eventually, I'd like to see him move up and face someone like a Chad Dawson.

lockett's got a very good chance of not only finishing the fight but doing what Taylor couldn't.locketts got a great chin will be the bigger man on the night.and have good power in there to.it wont happen but dont be surprized if "the rocket" stops Pavlik early.this is boxing not F1 remember.

Lockett better watch out.  He will get hurt in there.  He's like a guy from that Europe country, and he thinks he can come here and win.   Kelly Pavlik is the man- but he's got to get a new name.

He'll get knocked out. I think Pavlik stays at 160 for at least a year or two and enjoys the fruits of being middleweight champion.

Lockett does not have a prayer.  Pavlik has dominated two fighters that would take Lockett to the cleaners (JT & Miranda).

If he could land a fight with Calzaghe- that would be great! I think he would destroy the welshman, as well.

Pavlik knocks him out in 4 rounds. Pavlik just turned champion and I don't think he is ready to jump out of the division just yet. Calzaghe is a big money fight, but I think he will stay in his division for now and make a good name for himself. he could be very dominant for some years!

   As for Calzaghe I think he will go for the bigger name Roy Jones jr. I would love to see that fight happen
