Does MMA belong in the Olympics?

I know it's a new sport, but there are some real duds out there that we could live without- synchronized swimming and curling come to mind.

Since everyone in martial arts agrees that MMA is the evolution of the sport, and since it's so international (USA, Brazil, Japan, Croatia, Israel, Russia, etc.) I think it ought to be considered.

  1. Absolutely!  It's and exciting sport that's sure to get ratings up for the Olympics, but I'm not quite sure it's "family friendly" since the Olympics is broadcast on basic cable.  Boxing, Judo, and Taekwondo all use protection.  MMA does not and I'm thinking that's why it may not be included.  Personally I love the idea of seeing BJ Penn or Anderson Silva getting Gold medals, lol, but I'm not sure if the Olympics is ready for as bloody sport as MMA.

  2. absolutly i love mma.  its alot better than boxing to because there are no judges. you tap out or get knocked out.  plus its more interesting and more dificult
