Question:

Does MTV/Fuse ever pay for content like professional music videos?

A colleague of mine asked me an interesting question... Does Fuse/MTV pay to play professional music videos you've created with a a band on a label like Sony? Or are they just content with showing your video and the rewards is the publicity? Is there any profit share of any sort or does no such thing exist. I ask because I'm producing a music video with a band on the Vans Warped Tour right now and I'm curious if the channels actually pay for any content. I highly doubt it, but am still curious. How does this whole commissioning/budgeting music video process take place? Are music videos all for publicity and no profits? Thanks in advance!

  1. Here is how it works....believe it or not MTV and fuse are paid to play certain videos....Fuse and MTV never have to pay for videos, they attitude it, fine, we will play someone else....And if you want your band played more....you pay MTV or Fuse....Videos are for publicity only....They are not for profit of any kind, they are actually and expense...
