I have an IQ of 111, and I’m wondering as a student what are THE odds of accomplishing a petroleum engineering (PE) bachelors. I’m very interested in PE at the moment, and I’m at college for the course matter however I’m taking the most basic courses you can take... I’m starting from the bottom of the toilet bowl. I never graduated high school so my students skills are shot to h**l (lol) I’m serious I want to be an engineer but I have so many issues.

I don’t mean to excuse myself but I have Bi-polar Adhd mix. Now the reason i bring that up is that on top of my comparatively low IQ I have difficulty staying focus and conditioning myself to do the WORK... I shut down when it comes to hard work. I have learned a lot sense i arrived in this college and that is that hard work takes much self discipline. Having mentioned all of these things what could you say to me to boost my ego... or honesty is what I’m looking for. Please don’t keep in your opinion if it’s a bad thing to say i don’t mind i just want to know.

  1. Well no one can possibly tell you if you can accomplish your goal of becoming an engineer or not.  If you set your mind to it and truly work hard and dedicate yourself to the rigorous coursework and the all night study sessions than I believe that even someone with half your IQ could do it.

  2. From what i believe in...

you can do whatever you want as long as you study hard and train hard.

trust me, it takes those little goals to accomplish those big ones.

just dont look down on yourself!
