  1. In some organizations the words Executive Director, Managing Director and CEO are used to mean the same thing. While in some cases the Executive Director is the head of a speciality group like Marketing, Production, Sales etc.
    Ideally the Executive Director (ExD) is the owner of the company/start-up while the Managing Director reports to the ExD and to the CEO and the Chairman.
