  1. No, its all a lie. Marijuana is perfectly safe. The feds and the rest of the people say its bad for you, because they don't like drugs. But if it was bad, and would give someone cancer, I doubt they would even have Medicinal Marijuana for people with Cataracs or something. Its safe no matter how much you smoke. But if you smoke for years and years, try 30 on, you'll begin to develop resin in your lungs, which is just like coughing up brown pleghm. So other then that, Mary Jane is perfectly safe. So toke up!!! :]

Plus all the ones that are telling you it does, have either never smoked it in their lives, or did and didn't like it. So from a fellow stoner, its perfectly safe n fun :] no cancer no nothing

  2. No.  The risk of lung cancer is much lower since you're smoking much less organic material (what Maire said).  Obviously, it would be better if you didn't smoke any tobacco but there are more carcinogens in cigarettes than loose tobacco.

  3. no..

SMOKING WEED HAS NEVER BEEN PROVEN TO CAUSE CANCER. NEVER..

  4. not at all. marijuana doesn't cause ANY harm AT ALL compared to cigarettes.

    COMPARED TO CIGARETTES! CHILL.

  5. No but it gives you brain damage

  6. No....cigarettes do but yet somehow they are legal and pot is not

  7. Considering one of the uses of medical marijuana is to actually relieve cancer patients, I sincerely doubt it would also be cancer-causing.

  8. I do not care.  It does wonders with your brains, though.  You start off as a moron smoking (pot) and after that you disintegrate into an imbecile.

    Stop it!!!

  9. WTF. h**l no. cigs have tar and a whole bunch of other stuff in there, weed has absolutely none of that. If your weed have tar in it then you need another weed man.

  10. UC berkeley and UCLA recently did a massive study on this.  They expected that it would cause lung cancer, in fact more so than cigarettes, but when the study was concluded, they found lung cancer rates in those who smoked pot were actually lower than the general population.

This result was initially confusing, but the researchers figured out that there are a few tumor inhibiting chemicals in THC whose effects greatly outweigh the damage from smoking.

I still don't think smoking pot is the best idea, but this is one argument that the anti weed camp has completely wrong.  Smoking it does not give you lung cancer.

  11. Marijuana is far stronger than tobacco in it's carcinogens and tar.  However, people who smoke tobacco tend to smoke a lot, one or more packs a day.  Most people who smoke marijuana smoke far, far less than that.  You cannot simply compare pot smokers and tobacco smokers and make a determination about the health risks of tobacco or marijuana.

As for the claim that Marijuana is sometimes used as medicine by cancer patients so it can't cause cancer, that's nonsense.  Marijuana is smoked by cancer patients to relieve the nausea caused by chemotherapy, no one claims that it treats the cancer.

  12. Any smoke taken into your lungs causes damage to the cilia. Smoke from unfiltered blunt of weed is hot smoke, and does other damage also from the heat. I don't know if it's been studied for relationship to lung cancer the way cigarettes have, esp. since it's illegal.

Taking smoke into the lungs is the same as smoke inhalation from being in a fire. It just damages/kills you slower.

If you want to get baked, why not with brownies? Save your lung tissue, you need it to be working optimally for many years.

    ** peace **
