I've never been to Mass, I hear it's nice.  Since deregulation hit the utility market about 5 years ago......most utility companies will pay you or credit you for any power you generate and dump back onto "the grid".  It requires a special meter (two way) and they will generally pay you at a wholesale rate between 3.5 cents to about 12 cents, depending where you are and what the local rate structure is in your area.  (per Kilowatt)
