Question:

Does Massacusetts have any way to verify whether a Notary Public is in good standing?

I need to find out if a Notary Public was in good standing at the time she notarized a signature. The signature she notarized was her husbands and it was on real estate documents (which would have benefited her materially) Furthermore, I found out that this notary was indicted for stealing thousands from a local boosters program. If she was under investigation of larceny, could she still be a practicing notary? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  1. the site that "Andrea' posted has the answers you need.

the notary should not have notarized for her husband that is a direct violation of the code, the other issues you bring up are irrelevant. in the list of FAQs there is contact information for filing a complaint.

give 'Andrea" the 10 points and a cookie(peanut butter M&M)

  2. I found the state's website:

    http://www.mass.gov/?pageID=gov3subtopic...

If you can't find the answer on the website, you may want to contact the governor's office, as mentioned on the right side of this page.

    Good luck.
