  1. gets the sympathy vote , sounds aw full but there have been other POW 's you know , who got treated 10 times worse

  2. No just as Obama status as being "black" doesn't make  him immune from criticism. Oh, that's right it does, doesn't it?

  3. What no one seems to understand is, regardless of who gets in office, taxes will be raised. It doesn't matter who plays what card, the media is running the race anyway.

  4. define pow "card".  as there is no definition here, the answer to your question is unclear.  extolling virtues that make it clear why you should be president is called CAMPAIGNING and is useful to most people who understand this process.  if thats what your questioning i agree with you in one very narrow point.  i think a mre useful "card" to play is simply that Mccain is NOT an out of control socialist who believes that draconian taxation and failed social welfare schemes are needed as policy.

thats enough for me and most other WORKING americans to consider.

  5. Even though I respect what happened to him and everything but if this guy was never tortured, he would have been LONNGGGG gone.

I know torture is wrong but there are plenty of other people who had the same or worse treatment who aren't using it to gain sympathy votes.

  6. No, unless it is criticism of his service to his country.  I do not agree on a few things McCain has spoken about.  But, IMO. I do find him to be the best of the two candidates.

I don't see where the campaign is playing the POW card.  However, being a POW is nothing to be ashamed of either.  I believe McCain is addressing the issues.

McCain is against the socialism that would cause the infrastructure to collapse, and the economy is the number one issue with Americans.

  7. No, but, it does show character and resolve.  In fact, attitudes that formed during his time in imprisonment probably to a large extent molded him in many facets, for, how could it not?

Does this mean he will be a wise, balanced, and informed President.  No, it doesn't.  Much has been made about his REAL ability to compromise on party politics and seek new legislation with Democrats on given issues, which indicates his lack of fear concerning his legislative endeavors.

For me, the question becomes, what does he, McCain or Obama, wish to accomplish as President, and, whom can calm the world with American resolve and strength thru a  sort of stability as a leader?

Is it McCain or Obama or neither?

  8. When it comes to politics, nobody is immune from criticism.  His military service should never be questioned or criticised because he did serve honorably.  Why shouldn't McCain play the POW card?  Obama has been playing the race card in a very clever manner.

  9. Obviously not.

  10. You have to play the cards in your hand.

I don't think anyone is immune from criticism however. The POW card does not grant immunity anymore than the race card should.

We need to vote on the issues!

  11. As I'm Obama supporter I have great respect for McCain's  sacifice, however I do think his supporters are taking advantage of his sacrifice I mean blacks have sacrificed for over two hundred years, but if they said so it will be using the race card...! Having said that, let me make it clear,I don't see Obama as any colour except American!

  12. Yes, it does.  maureen dowd had a great column on that very subject.
