  1. He said he was joking.... and not a few hours later, but in the very same sentence

  2.   As I remember his statement said that making 5 million a year was the new "RICH", not middle class.

But then again, I'm not making up c**p to put down a candidate that is opposing Obumma.

  3. anyone making under 5 million are middle class. which is B-S! mccain is not right for this country no matter what.

  4. NO

The Government figures put middle class much higher than that.

You have to make $25million a year to qualify as a small business.

Bush's Base make over $600Million. They were given a Tax cut so they only have to find enough deductions to cover 17% of their income. That is why Bush called them his 17%'ers.

  5. Do not spend too much time on an old grumpy prick. Who cares what he thinks ?

  6. Apparently, he said he was only joking, but in the current climate of increasing widespread economic pain, it was definitely not funny.

I think he really has no idea about the state of the average Americans finances, and so he said something obviously far off-base so he could camouflage his ignorance in a misguided attempt at humor.

  7. Cindy McCain flips properties and John McCain is not some sexist Democrat who thinks he should be controlling his wife so he does not know everything she does.  Get over it and quit supporting sexist politics.

Congress needs to define a formula for calculating "middle class".

This will probably go over most democrats heads, but....

Currently income distribution is bi-modal or multi-modal if you prefer, and the politicians use this bi-modality or multi-modality to confuse the tax issue.

McCain has defined middle class rather consistently and within a large spread, including the mutli-modality of the income distribution.

None of his distributions of middle class tat I ever read include those making 5mil a year and I can't find any reasonable source on the web identifying anything like that.

Congress refuses to create a formula defining "middle class" so they can continue to be ambiguous about it, just as Obama has been.

  8. I see you are one of those who does not actually listen to all that was said.  No he doesn't.

  9. Did you actually read the transcript or hear what he said? No, I didn't think so. Is this indicative of how most Democrats make their decisions, using bad information? Or are you just trying to stir up covetous behavior among your fellow Americans?

You would be better served to try not to fall into the trap of envy and spreading falsehoods.

  10. McCain is far removed from the economic realities of the middle class and the poor and he says very strange things.  In his defense however, Republicans don't even try to act as if they care about people other than the very rich, so he is in accord with his party's economic philosophy.

  11. ...it's just that with things as discouraging to the majority as they are now, there are somethings that should not be joked about. It speaks to your sensitivity and, ultimately, your integrity. Off handed quips have no place in discussions about people's hardships.

  12. No, he doesn't. This was hashed out a week ago. Try and keep up

  13. When you can't remember how many estates you have in your possession 5 million is just a drop in the bucket.
