  1. I think he seriously needs to focus on Alaska, Utah, Wyoming, and Alabama in case those states turn blue this time.

    vvvv

  2. but didn't you see all the blacks behind him everywhere he goes? just like the 2000 convention, [sarcasm] and when are they bringing out Colon Powell?

  3. I thought, at first, everyone would see that the choice of VP was an outrageous mistake.  The media are making this lady super-girl and we could be in trouble.  I hope Obama comes out swinging soon.  We need some air time.

  4. I don't see him getting very far there, unless their already the conservative type.

  5. No he needs to reach out to the American laborer by kicking NAFTA to the curb. too late though he already supports it, and anyone with any intelligence realizes anyone supporting it, isn't putting their own country first, unless they are on the otherside of the American border.

  6. He might as well.  Obama is going to get probably 90% of the black vote.

  7. to the guy above me...lol...he will win the evangelical women's vote only

  8. Yes, but that would be pointless.  They won't vote for him and he doesn't care to win them on the issues.

  9. No, but he has and will continue to do so.

  10. HE NEEDS TO REACH OUT TO ALL AMERICANS NOT JUST THE BUSHBOTS

  11. That might be a start, but I'm afraid anything he does now is too little too late.

  12. Character is not defined by race.

  13. It would probably help.

But it should be noted that Republicans have been winning the White House off and on for years without that much of the black vote.

Back in 1992 (First Bush v. Clinton), Clinton got 83% of the black vote to Bush's 10%.

    in 1996 (Clinton v. Dole), Clinton got 85% to Dole's 12%.

    in 2000 (Gore v. Second Bush), Gore got 89% to Bush's 10%.

    in 2004 (Bush v. Kerry), Kerry got 88% to Bush's 11%.

Republicans still won on a number of occasions, even though they averaged between 10-12% of the black vote every election.

So it would help McCain if he went for the black vote and actually got some of it; but it is possible for him to get what Republicans have gotten in the past and McCain still win even without the black vote.

  14. why waste their time? blacks are voting black. McCain will win with the woman vote.

  15. I don't think so...

I think the independents... that nebulous bunch of folk that don't follow politics too closely...(they may actually be registered for one party or the other, but don't really care)

the people that voted for W. Bush and Clinton... this is where wins are made...

and I think Palin could hurt him... once she starts talking...

  16. I think not.

If they turned their backs on Hillary, they are a lost cause.  (No one serving at the national level has been better to African Americans than the Clintons.)

  17. Yes but it may be pontless because most will vote for Obama.  As a Latina, I can say the same goes for Latinos(which are going to play a very critical role this november).

  18. Blacks are americans also. So he needs to reach out to every ethnicity to help him win the white house.

  19. I always love when they state one of them has this race or the other. Shouldn't we vote for the better candidate on the issues not on their color.

How are the bi-racial gonna vote. My philipino friends. The asiatics. You'd think it was just the black and mexican vote that was important. When they say this race is voting this way. Do they all have to then go, not but choice, but the news says were voting this way.

  20. he needs to reach out to everyone, but the black vote really isnt a powerful force, they are becoming more diversified, meaning many are republicans and many are democracts,

even more you can look this up if you dont believe me but african americans as a race has more felonies then any other race in the us,

    felony=no voting privileges

like i said they are not that powerful, kerry supposedly had the black vote and young vote and look what good it did him

you still need the white folks, they have a big majority in this country but not for long i heard in a few decades they will not be the majority
