  1. So let me get this straight, Palin's brother-in-law tases a member of the family, gets drunk in a patrol car, threatens the life of her father if her sister gets a lawyer and Palin reports this to the proper authority. The proper authority does nothing. This goes on for a while and Palin offers him another job, which he takes. Then resigns. Now claims he was fired for political reasons.

I don't see where Palin did anything wrong. But it is being investigated, and I'm sure we'll all know more when the investigation is finished. How about we wait to see what the investigation concludes?

Otherwise, no one could ever run for any office because a quick call to DHS would automatically launch an investigation.

  2. No , actually her speech tonight proved that Mccain made a very smart choice. She is the new hero of the republican party and people connected with her. and u libs are desperate., the news said that public safety commissioner admitted that Palin  NEVER TOLD HIM DIRECTLY, BY PHONE OR EVEN BY E-MAIL to fire that trooper. all these allegations because she criticized that trooper not getting punishment for threatening her family. Get over it

  3. Yes, I think so... he knew about "toopergate", as the press has dubbed it, during the vetting process. But given the "hours" he claims to have spent vetting her, I question his judgment based on a bunch of other issues. Did he really know everything about her, or did he just jump at brining her in to appease the far right, and perhaps bring in a few Hillary Clinton supporters (the few who only supported her because of her gender and didn't care what she stood for).

First, the trooper wasn't her first abuse of power. While Mayor of Wasilla, she requested the procedure for censoring books from the local librarian, then threaten to fire her when she refused.

While Mayor of Wasilla (a town of just over 4,000 when she took office, up to something in the 6,000's when she left), she racked up $20 million in debt.. so much for successfully managing a government, or "Fiscal Conservatism"... ok, it's in keeping with the Bush Administration's use of "Conservatisim" to mean the opposite of it's dictionary definition.

Don't get the impression she's NOT generally a supporter of big oil. She did pursue bigger taxes on oil companies (which are a substantial part of Alaska's economy). But she's been pushing hard for drilling in the Alaska National Wildlife Refuge... which McCain opposes (unless he's flip-flopped on that, too, recently). And her husband works in Big Oil.. at a non-management position with BP. She also sued to have the Polar Bear removed from the endangered species list... even the Bush Administration supported protection for the Polar Bear. So on the environment, she's actually to the right of Bush... ouch!  She also vetoed both wind power (50MW plant proposed) and a clean coal project... she really likes the oil. Doesn't believe that global warming is caused by human activity, either... of course, she also believes the earth is only 6,000 years old.

    Bad judgement all around.

  4. Nope

It was obviously a move to steal the media attention from Obama, and it is going as planned

  5. Nope. But voting for Obama shows you Bots your poor judgement.

  6. Hmm picking an AWESOME strong conservative woman as your VP is poor judgement??

    LOL

Then what would you call ignoring Hillary with her HUGE base of supporters and instead picking a 35 year washington insider who's son you earmark millions of dollars for?  Is that good judgement?

"Sen. Barack Obama sought more than $3.4 million in congressional earmarks for clients of the lobbyist son of his Democratic running mate, Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware, records show. Obama succeeded in getting $192,000 for one of the clients, St. Xavier University in suburban Chicago."
