  1. You Obamaites? Why do people dislike Barack Obama and assume that only dumb minorities believe in him?

I don't mean to be disrespectful, but the conservative mindset is so self-delusional. Republicans' mental boundaries are very small.  They lack culture and perpetuate policies and attitudes that harm our reputation and safety overseas.

I assume most Republicans travel abroad often, or at least do not venture much beyond Europe.   Barack Obama is an exceptionally insightful and gifted leader.  He is everything good about America and can have positive influence overseas and on bringing up our nation's reputation.  Of course, his best accomplishments will happen here in the USA.

  2. I think he supposes that Hilary supporters who wanted a woman in office will go with him as Obama snubbed Clinton after she brought a lot of votes to his camp.  I agree with Rukiddin.  The problem is that a politician has to be wealthy to run for office, so we really don't get the best qualified, on either side really.  The Bush family was so rich, they bought the oval office.  You watch, Jeb will run in the near future.

  3. She hunts moose

    She fishes

    TV Sports reporter,

Mayor then for 4 years, now Governor for 2 years.

She has an approval rate of over 80% as Governor, the highest in the USA.

    Mother of 5

Oldest son in the US Army

Youngest son born with Downs Syndrome, they knew and still had the child.

She actually has visited the troops in Lanstuhl hospital in Germany.

Her husband is a real man who has won the snowmobiler 2000-mile "Iron Dog" race. 4 times.

    Her husband is native American

Sarah Palin is a great VP, a Governor, Guns, babies and Jesus what more could you want?

  4. Watch and weep Obama boy.

  5. It's a bigger picture than that....there were many things considered for this pick. You'll learn these things as you investigate more.

  6. I think alot of comments all around are going to come back in sound byte commercials to bite someone in the proverbial butt....

  7. you took it out of context.

  8. Maybe, but Obama has already gotten Hillary supporters to go over to McCain. Really, you Obamamites are giving the election away much the same way you did 4 years ago when you chose Kerry.

  9. I'm one Clinton supporter voting for McCain.  Obama has said a lot worse about Clinton supporters.  I won't forget.

  10. He might think so, but most of the Clinton supporters who haven't switched to Obama have done so because they feel McCain has more experience. Palin brings nothing to the table in that regard and McCain is now in the position of arguing that she's qualified to be commander-in-chief if he dies, which is an argument he'll have to make while also convincing people he's not going to die, and at the same time he's still trying to say that Obama isn't ready and on top of that he'll have to argue that Palin wasn't chosen over more qualified candidates just because she was a woman. That's going to take quite a bit more dancing than McCain is capable of. I guess Rice meant it when she said she didn't want the job because she would have the same up side politically and the downside of tying him more to the Bush administration would have been easier to explain, especially since he's already as hawkish as Bush and has that 100 years in Iraq quote on video.

I was a Richardson supporter until he dropped out. I proudly voted Clinton in the primary and supported her until it was clear she couldn't win. Now I'm proud to be voting for Obama in November.

EDIT: Casey - How much farther from Washington can you get than Alaska? Obama was born in Hawaii and spent a few years as a child in Jakarta. Not that it's actually relevent, but I find that kind of amusing in response to your point.

  11. No, but of course McCain is hoping for that which would be a big bonus. On the other hand this pick is actually energizing their base BIG TIME.

  12. Mccain is terrible

  13. no, this is for the fundamentalists, not clinton supporters - a women who is a pro-life creationist has little in common with hillary supporters.

  14. No, you got it all wrong. It is about the corrupt corridors of power that McCain has lambastes for a long time waiting for his chance to change it. Palin has proven to be the real thing, a real reformer who despises corruption and wasteful government spending.

They are bookends to squeeze the corruption out of the U.S. Congress.

  15. I dont think so.  Fact is, he doesnt NEED any Hillary supporters.  He may get some, and that's just icing on the cake.  Plus, some Hillary supporters may be so disgusted that they won't vote at all.  So much the better.

I think Palin will really help to shore up the Republican base, and that's how elections are won.  The "independent" vote is not crucial, despite what the media tells us.

  16. Maybe they respect honesty for a change

  17. All of a sudden the qualifications of VP have taken an all time low?

Reminds me of Dan Quayle who thought he was the new John Kennedy.

wow............her speech grates on your nerves.

  22. Yes - he is doing it to get female voters.........

  23. She's a joke.  I don't understand how those repubs think.

  24. so why do dems care if she is a no brainer?...why are they on here asking so many non-questions about her if they arent worried?...I think she will pull another 10-12 % at least

  25. No there cant be any reason why they would vote for mccain were talking about HARD left people u would have to be HARD left to vote for a socialist agenda like hillary or obama
