  1. They are NOT the same. Hotels in Mexico certainly are NOT like hotels everywhere.

Europe is a far cry from Mexico. Voltage is the same all over this hemisphere.

Most "old fashioned" hotels have out dated A.C.outlets .  Many places have only two pronged A.C outlets. Most cellphones will plug right in.  Some electrical devices now have one prong larger than the other and no matter what you do they will not fit..

For blenders and some other heavy duty appliances you will need a similar adapter. They are about two or three dollars.

You will need a small adapter plug and they are available all over Mexico

Arron says they are the same and goes on to explain the difference???????????????

  2. They are the same, but I've noticed that many of them don't have the third prong for the ground.  This can be a problem, since most electronics today use the three-prong plug.  I'm sure you can get an adapter, but I've never worried about it.  There always seems to be an outlet somewhere that works...often, there is one standard outlet in a hotel room and the rest only are set up for two-prong plugs.

  3. yes  we have , no adapter needed.

  4. You won't need a converter, but you will be happier if you bring along 1 or 2 power-strips, or extension cords with multiple sockets on the end. Hotels in Mexico are like hotels everywhere - there's only so many receptacles and most are already filled with plugs from the lights and other things.
