Does Michael Phelps have gills and webbed feet?

I mean this guy is unbelievable - I look at Mark Spitz's' record in the 200 meter freestyle from 1972 and Phelps would beat him by more than 10 seconds! A fast swimsuit alone cannot account for this much difference. Phelps is simply the best swimmer I've ever seen.

Ian thorpe absolutely doesn't  compare to the swimmer that Michael Phelps is today....Ian retired too early because he said that he lack motivation....something that Michael will never lose in the sport of swimming.  If Ian was even comparable to Michael then why didn't he win eight gold medals?  Michael is by far the greatest, least arrogant, swimmer of all time and if anyone says different perhaps they should go to Michael's house and count his gold medals!!!!


  2. No. Ian Thorpe is the best. When Ian was around, he was always beating Phelps and you could kinda sense that Phelps knows Ian's better than him too. When Ian was around, there was no competition, he was taking all the gold. Now that Ian has retired, Phelps is getting arrogant because there is no real competition against him. So it's like the second best is enjoying all the glory now.

    he's one of the only athletes i know by name and want to watch because he's that good!

    i'd love to meet him, that would be so cool!

    and he's kinda cute, and i heard on the news that one of the only reasons he took up swimming is because he didn't want people making fun of his big ears! =)

  11. That VISA commercial where they "suggest" he may have gills and webbed feet is great.  The way the man swims, you would think he does.  He will go down in history as one of the greatest swimmers of all time.  It will be years before someone matches or breaks all the records he's made.
