Does Midol physically stop the uterus from contracting?

By blocking prostaglandins, does the drug keep the uterus from contracting, or does it simply alter pain reception?

  1. No, it just dulls your senses. It can get rid of headaches too.  


  2. No, just like all over the counter pain relievers it only alters your pain reception.

    Midol's active ingredient is Naproxen sodium (Alieve) which is an anti-inflammatory, so it will help with any swelling and pain, but it does not actually effect your uterus in any way. Technically a man could take Midol for a headache, backache, etc. and it would work for him.
