Does Miss USA 2010 Winner Rima Fakih follow sports
Rima Fakih is now a worldwide star, that’s if you believe the Miss USA contest 2010 was watched by 250million people worldwide as the ratings have suggested.
Fakih fought off 50 other contestants on the final day, despite stumbling on her own dress, to take the crown and she hopes she doesn’t repeat the stumble at the Miss Universe contest.
“I did it here, I better not do it at Miss Universe," she said. "Modeling does help, after all."
But what everyone wants to know is, does she follow sports? And who does she support? Well, she grew up in New York which makes it more than likely she supports teams from New York, but in 2003 her family moved to Michigan, so she has a few more options open to her.
She says she loves dancing, kick boxing, playing football and watching the NFL, as well as travelling and running.
She didn’t say which team gets her allegiance but here are some of the options open to her.
She could support the NY Jets. The Jets haven’t won a conference championship since they joined the NFL 40 years ago and haven’t won the AFC East since 2002. They made the play-offs five times during the 2000’s and nearly made the Super Bowl last year, but were eventually eliminated by the Indianapolis Colts.
Or Fakih could be a supporter of the NY Giants who produced one of the greatest upsets in Super Bowl history when they beat the New England Patriots in 2007. The Giants are more successful than their city rivals winning three Super Bowls in their history, the first coming in 1986. The 24-year –old would be too young to remember that victory but the Super Bowl in they won in 1990 might be the reason she would support the Giants.
Now that she lives in Michigan she might follow the Detroit Lions, but the team is so bad it would be hard to imagine a switch from one of the NY teams to the Lions. They haven’t made the play-offs since 1999 and in 2008 became the only team in NFL history to lose all 16 regular season games.
Miss Fakih of course could support someone else but being brought up in a sports-crazy city, it makes sense that she would either be a Giants or Jets fan.
