Question:

Does Money Ruin a Marriage?

I know poverty will wreck a marriage but it seems to me that couples who have a lot of money are also doomed. Do you think that couples who become very wealthy are more prone to divorce than couples who don't? Why or why not?

  1. It is not wealth itself but what we do with it/think about it.  The old saying about money and evil is normally misquoted as: "Money is the root of all evil".  In reality, the quote is:  The love of money is the root of all evil".

  2. In some cases, a lot of money can have the same effect on a marriage, as not having enough.

It depends on the partnership, and if that is weak then there will probably be marital problems.

  3. Disagreement over how to best use the money contributes to divorce.

  4. i kinda think money also keeps marriages together. sometimes if one has more money than the other, they don't want to part with any of it, like in alimony.

divorce shows no partiality - poor or rich

  5. Anyone who is married is prone to divorce. It's got nothing to do with finances.

Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt -- had nothing to do with money, everything to do with entitlement.  I could go on, but won't.
