Question:

Does NASCAR has a Big Brother mentality?

With the Busch and Edwards feud or rivalry, NASCAR penalized them both on warnings and if any more, they would be suspended until the end of the year. The emotion and competitive spirit is what drives NASCAR to be exciting, and NASCAR seems to spoil all the fun and anticipation. It really takes out the competitive edge out of the big races because they have to behave.

  1. More like Catholic nuns disciplining students. The media & NASCAR have as usual, blown it way out of proportion.

Kyle & Carl are best friends !

  2. Are you serious?  Of course behind closed doors NASCAR was delighted by the fireworks last week.  Publicity and excitement are good for business, but NASCAR has to attend to public relations matters like any other business.  The probations are just to put on a good face.  That being said, if either was to do something obviously intentional while on probation then NASCAR would have to follow through with punisment, but noone expects that to happen.

  3. More like a Big Daddy mentality.  They own it and they run it.  Anyone who doesn't like it is free to go race elsewhere.

I'm not sure that Busch and Edwards "have to behave".  NASCAR doesn't tell us exactly what probation means.  They don't have to.  They own it and they run it......

  4. No there would just be other "key drivers" that you heard about besides them, this isnt the first rivaly the sport has had this is absolutly nothing compared to some petty had and then Sr/ wallace man its just a small rivaly and they have to have some kind of punishment or it would be a demolishon derby when ppl get mad, they barely got punished basically got told not to do it again and are getting made sure they dont do it again

HAHA the funny part about this guy above me comment is the nascar/ media blows it out of paportion, and really nascar made them tight lipped about the situation and made them act like they are freinds and told them to be cool with each other and the media portraid that to you with in the last 2 or 3 days and now you belive it!!!!

  5. i agree boys will be boys and there was need to penalize carl edwards... busch did deserve it but even if he wasnt penalized i really wouldnt have cared would have liked it but i would not care ... let them race and fight because that is what is driving nascar since the races seem to be getting boring

  6. I agree.  They looked like hypocrites.  First they say they'll let the emotions fly and then they give some nonsense probation stemming from a Bristol race.  Like those two have been the only ones to bang on eachother at Bristol in the entire history of NASCAR.
