Does NYC need an eco-friendly Florist?

I am looking in to starting a new eco-friendly Floral Company in NYC. After years in the business, I have witnessed all forms of pollution and waste coming from floral shops and vendors. The farms now growing mass-produced plants and cut flowers are responsible for pesticides, and fertilizers polluting the land and waterways. I believe there is a calling for organic flowers and eco-responsible packaging, plants, containers, etc. I have done my research and I have not found a complete eco-friendly florist in this city. How would customers take this idea, and would they be willing to spend the few extra dollars to support this Earth-Friendly endeavor?

  1. It sounds like a great idea. Hopefully being "environmentally friendly" will not come at a higher cost to your customers as that would let you have little or no business.
