Does Nature's Home power guard air purifier work or is it just hype?

ours worked for 6 months and been needing filters every 3/4 weeks.

It depends on what you mean by "work".  If you have a medical need for an air purifier, or have bad allergies, a HEPA filter air purifier with a high rate of air flow can help reduce irritating particles in the air.  They tend to be noisy, though.  It's also generally not enough to just have a filter.  You need to keep floors, carpets, upholstery, blankets and such meticulously clean, or they will be a constant source of additional irritants.

    However, if you're healthy and don't have bad allergies, you are unlikely to glean any benefit at all from an air purifier unless there is some specific sort of particulate pollution in your area that you're trying to eliminate. And keep in mind that an air purifier only eliminates solid particles.  It does not remove harmful gasses from the air.

    3-4 weeks seems like an awfully short lifespan for a filter, though.
