Does New Zealand have good surf?

How is it compared to socal?

New Zealand has ahhhmazing surf. I absolutely love it. This is a pretty cool site that names some cool places to check out, and I have been to the majority of them and this site is on it. SoCal has great surf but I prefer New Zealand... and its also closer to me but any who.  NZ>SoCal by far.

Depending on the season it's "world class".  I'm not sure if that really means anything, but yes NZ has good surf that, in some places, is comparable to SoCal, in some places.  They're both big areas with lots of variation to the size and quality of the surf they offer.  

Try a google or yahoo search on New Zealand surfing spots for more specific information about seasons and details.
