Does OHIP in Ontario cover full body physical exams?

  1. It covers one annual checkup, for those who qualify for regular OHIP benefits.  You must be resident in Ontario, and have an Ontario address for at least 6 months, and a valid current Ontario OHIP photo ID.

    Any tests your doctor deems necessary, may or may not be covered depending on the test.

    Example:  A male prostrate cancer blood test is $50, you pay the lab in advance, and is not OHIP covered.  

    The doctor will not inform you of this.  You will find out when you go for the blood tests.  

    You have the option to refuse the test.  If so, you must sign a vaiver.  If you elect to pay and take the test, they accept cash or credit card.  NO cheques.
