Does Obama represent the first post-Vietnam candidate? Is that why some people have problems with him?

  1. I don't think that's an issue for too many people, except that it reflects his relative youth.  It's certainly a concern for some that he never served in the military.  And of course many are troubled by his relative lack of experience.  No doubt others are uncomfortable with the color of his skin or his unusual name.  Many people are enthralled by his wonderful speaking ability.  Some see that as an insufficient qualification for the presidency, and others feel like he's trying to con them.  

    There will never be a candidate who everyone loves.  Just be happy that he's going to win.

    He is the ant-war, throw-back hippy candidate.

  3. Young people are statistically more likely to vote Democrat, since they pander more to them.

    I notice a lot of Obama fans seem to suffer from some form of gerontophobia.

  4. I don't like Obama because of his positions on drilling for oil; the war in Iraq; his association with the Rev Wright; his universal health care; etc etc etc.  What's Vietnam got to do with it?
