The rich elites in America support illegal immigration. The politicians in both political parties must do what the elites tell them to do. So Obama and McCain both support it.

Based on the legislation he voted for, he was in favor of a border fence in 2006.  However, in 2007 and 2008, he decided not to increase funds to the border fence.  He also seems to have been in support of an increased border patrol and increased funds for a border patrol since 2005, as well as the National Guard assisting the border patrol.
