Does Olympic BMX remind anyone else of speed skating in the Winter Olympics?

Go as fast as you can and hope nobody next to you falls and takes you out.

  1. You know what, it does kinda remind me of it when I think about it. They were certainly right about there being crashes though. I would love to actually try that (after a lot of training first of course).

  2. Those tight banks in BMX reminds one of speed skating.

    Short-track speed skating, especially.

A lot of olympic speed skating athletes were victims of those dreaded turns....including Dan Jansen.

But there is a lot I don't know about olympic BMX racing still. I don't know if you can get disqualified for taking out a biker, or intentionally causing a multiple spill (causing other bikers to fall down).
