Does PVA glue stick paper to glass?

Customising a bowl and want to glue some pictures on a glass bowl. Will PVA work?

  1. It might work temporarily, but it should certainly work if you basically decoupage it on with one or more layers of clear finish on top (something like thinned permanent white glue, decoupage medium like Royal Coat or ModPodge,  polyurethane, etc.).

    Paper (a porous material) would probably come off though if it were stressed if it were adhered to glass (a non-porous material) with just a white glue (PVA, etc.) unless it formed a mechanical hold as well (e.g., the paper and glue going mostly or all the way around a vase, or drinking glass, etc.).

    For a secure hold that wouldn't also create a mechanical hold, you might want to use a 2-part epoxy glue, or try E-6000/Goop... or you could try a few coats of a 2-part epoxy resin like Envirotex Lite or Ultra-Glo.  All of those will dry or cure clear.
