Yes it is a country a turmoil, but if any of you guys watch the news, that ego-maniacal Musharraf resigned at around 3:15AM CDT

So, maybe the new president will get it out of turmoil.

  1. No, hosting the Olympics in Pakistan is not a good idea at all. Pakistan is a turmoil place so hosting the Olympics there will probably makes the terrorists very happy.

  2. A country not only has to have a ton of money and support in order to prepare and bid for the olympics, but a country with any type of conflict or terrorist activity would never ever be considered. China was actually a pretty big risk for the IOC and compared to Pakistan, China is way more stable and has more resources to spend on the Olympics.

  3. Pakistan was allotted the Asian Games of 1978 to be held in Islamabad, which eventually was shifted to Bangkok because the country couldn't raise the kind of finances needed. Where India is concerned, they have staged the Asian Games twice, the very first one in 1951 and another one in 1982. Now, New Delhi is the host of the 2010 Commonwealth Games. Where Arab or Middle Eastern countries are concerned, Tehran (Iran) staged the Asian Games in 1974 and Doha (Qatar) as recently as 2006. The South Asian (previously the SAF) Games are held in the sub-continent,  and Islamabad has staged the games in 1989 and 2004. Of course, it is still difficult for developing countries like ours (Pakistan) to stage the Olympic Games. China is very much a super power. Do you believe that by just being a nuclear country, a nation enters the list of developed countries? A country being in 'turmoil' is not the only problems faced by smaller and developing countries like ours. The Olympic Games come much later.

  4. Maybe not now, but hopefully at some point in the future. I think putting the Olympics there would open alot of people's eyes about that country.

  5. Pakistan is another Afghanistan,

  6. well maybe in 25 yrs

  7. Unless Nuclear Bomb making is an event, I don't think they'll try.

  8. They would never get it

  9. In my opinion, Pakistan is a S#@thole country, and would be

one of the worst places in the world to hold an olympics.

For that matter, no Arabian or Indian type country possesses

the qualities necessary to host a successful olympics.

Sports are not a part of their culture, except for maybe a little soccer

and a few minor sports.  It just wouldn't work.
