Does Playing games in high resoulution needs more system resources?

Question

Yesterday I bought new LCD screen so I now play all my games in 1440*90 resolution..but I noticed in some games (Not all of them) that changing their settings to high resolution make them run much more slower (lower FPS) that usual although they run really fine on lower resolution..so is that a game bug or I need to upgrade my pc?

My Pc specs:2 Gb rams,2.6 celeron processor,Geforce 7300 video card

yes it does. you have to upgrade. try windows xp.2 gb ram.2.6 core 2 duo processor and geforce 8600 or 9600 gt video card.
