Does Prevacid work for heartburn????

I wanted to know before i actually drink it, i get bad heartburns..my throat starts burning...what do you guys think?

  1. Yes, it's treatment for GERD-gastroesophageal reflux disease.


  2. your throat is burning due to the regurgitation of the gastric contents in your stomach. This is because your valve is not closing properly (which normally this valve would prevent this acid backflow). Prevacid is a PPI or Proton pump inhibitor and also known as Lansoprazole which will help neutralize your stomach acid contents. If prevacid doesn't work for you, try Omeprazole or Zantac, which are both also available over the counter. Zantac comes in 75 and 150 mg. I currently use the 150mg maximum strength zantac and it works great for me. If you are still having problems, then contact your doctor and he can prescribe you prescription only PPI's.
