  1. The late Diana, Princess of Wales focused mostly, if not entirely on charity work that assisted the needy and the sick, rather than on the environment. In 1987, she opened the United Kingdom's first specialty AIDS ward and helped dispel myths about the disease by shaking hands and hugging people with HIV. Diana continued to make waves with her charity work after her divorce -- helping HIV-infected people in Africa and calling for an international ban on landmines. Diana also visited hospitals, where she comforted the sick and in so doing, assumed the patronage of various charitable organizations—and from an interest in certain illnesses and health-related matters.

Diana decided to concentrate her efforts on six organizations: Centrepoint, working with the young and homeless, the Leprosy Mission, which treats leprosy sufferers in over thirty countries, the National AIDS Trust, working with HIV and AIDS patients, the children’s hospital in Great Ormond Street, the Royal Marsden Hospital, which specializes in the treatment of cancer and the English National Ballet, as dance was one of her great passions. The Princess took on causes which were viewed as 'difficult or 'unfashionable'.

  2. Starting in the mid- to late 1980s, the Princess of Wales became well known for her support of several charity projects. This stemmed naturally from her role as Princess of Wales—she was expected to engage in hospital visitations where she comforted the sick and in so doing, assumed the patronage of various charitable organisations—and from an interest in certain illnesses and health-related matters. Diana was a supporter of the International Campaign to Ban Landmines, a campaign that went on to win the Nobel Peace Prize in 1997, but now Diana is not alive.

  3. At least she doesn't pollute, so I guess she isn't hurting the environment.

  4. She's providing food for worms.

  5. Considering she's been dead for almost 11 years, that would be a neat trick, now wouldn't it?

  6. Being that Princess Diana is dead, I don't think she is contributing a lot except her name to anything.

  7. http://www.theworkcontinues.org/landing....

The above is a link to the late Princess of Wales' website. It lists the work that Diana championed during life and continues to do so after death.

Her work dealt with people more than with the land. But her anti-landmine campaign was also a good one for the environment. She wanted the militaries to remove all landmines that they had planted during war campaigns. This would help save lives as well as clean up the environment.

I feel that I must apologize for the other answerers who aren't aware that Diana's charities are STILL ACTIVE! But ignorance these days passes as wit...so sad.

  8. Good fertilizer....

  9. Coz she's pushin' up daisies. Plants are good for the environment aren't they?
