Yes, Puerto rico is a unincorpored and organized territory of the USA.  We use the penny, nickel, dime quarter, dollar, $2, $5, $10, $20, $50, $100, etc. issued from US Treasury.

Yes, since 1898. But most people still call the currency by the name of Spain's pre-Euro currency:    Peso, Peseta, Vellon, Chavos.
