Does Quantum physics/Quantum mechanics allow for..........?

alatroy, nice try, but since I dont believe in metaphysics myself, well, this wasnt exactly what I was looking for here. I want cold hard theoretical facts here, not fiction.

I'm going to show my ignorance trying to answer this..

Past, Present, and Future are only linked by the fact that they race after each other, never meeting in one place - or do they?

We only realize time because we exist, we're like a funnel for time. If we didn't "exist" we could step outside the equation and jump around at will and observe the whole spectacle of time.

A portion of what we are dissolves in the past, a portion exists in the present, and a portion anticipates the future becoming past, time is flowing in one direction as far as we're concerned.

Parallel universes and dimensions would suggest that the same thing is happening to us in a different way somewhere else. I think that is just part of the past and doesn't really play out. The future is a whole different thing dimensionally, and is affected by decisions made in the past (the present is too fleeting a moment for decisions to stick). Our ability to channel (re-cycle_) The decisions of the past-keeping them at the forefront (present time) is the energy or driving force that narrows the future in such a way to link it to the past.

So what you're saying is that we are proof of quantum theory. When a scientist say that a spirit doesn't exist - he's saying that because spirits don't subscribe to the ability of being physical, that they are outside of the slipstream? Kewl.

Serious scientists can start stoning me now.

Quantum mechanics is an area that isn't fully understood.  I admit to my very limited knowledge of the subject.  I recall an interview with a physicist (who appeared to know what he was talking about) say there is nothing magical, supernatural or paranormal about quantum physics.  He said this in direct reaction to many people abusing the public misunderstanding of things quantum.

There are a limitless number of theoretical "what if" questions you can ask.  Is it possible there is a parallel universe?  Perhaps.  Is it probable?  I don't think so, but perhaps.  What makes you think there is?  Do you have any reason to believe there is one?  Did you create this hypothesis in the hopes of proving ghosts exist?

Parallel universes? There is something in quantum physics called the "many-worlds interpretation" which proposes that there are parallel universes.

Parallel dimensions? A dimension is a direction, not a place. Things don't "go to" or "come from" other dimensions. Some simple examples of dimensions are up, left, and north. However, string theory proposes that there are more (many more in some cases) than three spatial dimensions.

"past, present, and future to all exist at the same time"? This is a difficult question to anwser. In the context of this question, what can "at the same time" possibly mean?

Well Nuff I only know what people that know about this tells me. Yes it does my my information like I said comes from people like yourself who know more than I do about it. I have to admit I have no personal knowledge that comes from study except the study of ghosts.

My information comes from ghost hunters like Troy Taylor, Dave Oester Trent Brandon and as far as I know they do not have degrees in science either just hearsay and study like I have from those in the know. Sorry I could not answer intelligently

I guess it really depends if time is an actual thing or its just something that is in human heads.

There is a lot of known and unknown areas still in quantum physics, and I am sure in this century we will be surprised to find out many of the mysteries of the universe and quantum physics will lead us on a better part of that journey.

However, no quantum physicists are going to be exploring paranormal claims, as such things have not yet been demonstrated to exist.

In order to develop a hypothesis or theory using the scientific method, it has to first be established that something exists.

Without the proof of existance, it is a complete waste of time to get into explanaitions.

It would be like a scientist trying to explain scientifically how its possibly for pink unicorns to overpopulate the world. There is no point until the pink unicorn population starts rising.

You are explaining a cause and effect without demonstrating the existance of either.

parallel universes is an idea that stemmed out of string theory recently.

MANY argue that it's made up gobblety gok and cringe at the though of it. I tend to believe string theory and the possibility when I consider the rest of quantum mechanics.

multiple dimensions have been around since quantum mechanics began.

Now if we look at time in these models, its really a bit different

lets consider our current time almost like a location and the 4th dimension.

there are dimensions(5th) that can contain ALL moments of the 4th d (future, past, present).

Bundled up into a point in the 6th dimension. the 6th contains all locations of the 5th that had a different beginning.

then there is dimension (#7) that contains all the possible variations of all the 6th dimensions (all the locations) from their beginnings.

unfortunately, we, lower dimensional beings cannot see, test,  or transverse into the higher ones. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FAux8_vN-... This makes it impossible for us to tell if the ideas are true or not. And also makes it hard to say that time exists in the "same place" all at once.

I myself thought of quantum mechanics and connections to our thoughts or "a spirit or soul". an interesting idea if we consider we could be connected (through tunneling) to the other 'us's in time. does one of the us's in the 7th D know what will happen to us, or are they smarter and more advanced?

but for now, in this body, it is irrelevant without future study of quantum theory.

right now, time, gravity, and distance are our main objectives. once we understand those quantumly, we can control them.

That is when we can seriously attempt to understand how life can possibly connect to "everything else"

I think you may be combing a couple of theories there.

  Quantum physics says so can find out what a particle is doing but you cant know where its at, if you now where its at you cant know what its doing.

  As for parallel universes check of brane theory and string theory

The nearest possibility for one outcome of your question is quantum tunnelling. There may be many outcomes.

I personally feel, with absolutely no scientific proof, that each and every decision we make every day presents an opportunity for an alternate ( or parallel universe). I subscribe to the Robert A. Heinlein theory, Probably before your time but,

a great fiction writer. Try "The Number Of The Beast" or "Stranger In A Strange Land"Good light fun reads.

But time is a serious subject, and one I'm afraid I have very fixed notions upon. As I believe God created it,and holds it until, as you might say the time is right, and man must go forward only, living each moment to the fullest, as there is no going back. "The past is history, the future a mystery, we can only live in the now."

  But to punch a hole into an alternate universe, will probably

happen one day, what happens next? Well that will be a whole different universe again. LOL
