  2. No, it has not - it hasn't since about 1965. There have been discussions on and off over the years about reopening the line (which ran from Harrogate to Northallerton  on the present East Coast Main Line but I'm not sure they will ever come to anything;

    I think the closest station would be in Modesto.  Been a loooong time since I worked there, though.
