i love watching golf, but since i do not have a favorite golfer, i can really care less who wins....i just watching it....i would like to see rocco mediate, as the underdog win tomarrow...i think he has absolutely no chance because of all the pressure....do you think he stands a chance to endure all 18 holes again against the best to ever play the game??

  1. It's a tossup.  Rocco has put himself on the top with Tiger after 4 days so he knows what he's doing.  He's experienced, smart and moves the ball well.

  2. rocco is 2-0 all time in playoffs, but you should never bet against tiger, bad knee or not, hes still the greatest of all time.

  3. Rocco certainly does have a chance, he has been around awhile and is less likely to get flustered. He was marvelous today. But Tiger was the story, I have been following him since he was in Juniors. I met him once when he was playing for Stanford, he was kinda pleased then, that someone recognized him.  The team was checking into the Sheraton in the O.C.

  4. I think he has a better than average chance of winning, as Tigers knee has deteriorated over the past 4 days. If they cannot relieve the pain, then he will not be at his best. Rocco will have to make sure that he doesn't make any mistakes tomorrow.

  5. I hope Rocco wins, just because he hasn't won on tour in 6 years and Tiger already has 13 Majors.

  6. He stands about as much of a chance as Jessica Simpson winning an Oscar.

  7. Tiger

  8. 1st, retain the fact that old Wood will never accomplish what it takes to be the greatest player golf has ever seen. You can look it up ; Jack's statistics will always dwarf his. Now remember,  old Eldrick isn't out of the woods yet here. I cannot clearly observe Rocco Mediate as an underdog over a 18 hole playoff. Rocco Mediate will prevail due to Wood having a full platter. Call Wood Mr. choker..

  9. Depends if Rocco can stand the pressure cooker against a 1 on 1 battle with the best in the game.

  10. The thing with playoffs is that the previous 72 holes don't matter.  Tiger's two eagles... Don't matter.  His birdie putt to get into the playoff...  Don't matter.  If Rocco plays solid and demonstrates the smart course management he did Sunday, he *will* win.

Weather intentional or not, Tiger shows off on the first few holes and so who ever is paired with him tries to 'keep up' with him and makes mistakes early to get into trouble.  But Tiger can't even 'keep up' with Tiger and he will make mistakes eventually.  But his partner is usually well in the hole by then so he can afford to give up the stoke.

A perfect example was yesterdays #13.  Both Westwood and Tiger put it in the ice plant, but Westwood was already down a few strokes.  How much will it irk (and rattle) Tiger to have to take the drop and stroke with Rocco calmly waiting in the middle of the fairway chewing on his tee.

In short, like I said up top, Rocco needs to play solid smart golf so that when (not if) Tiger puts one of them 'superstar' shots way errant, he will not have the cushion to shrug it off.  Rocco needs to make...  every... shot...  count.

  11. He and Tiger played four rounds and shot the same overall score.  I think it's possible, though maybe not probable, that Rocco has a chance.  I just hope he doesn't wear a peace symbol belt buckle again.
