  1. Rolfing is a deep manual therapy that produces permanent change in the underlying tissues. Its purpose is to provide you with the tools and foundation for structural and functional change, thus enabling you to perform more balanced and efficient movement patterns.

Once Rolfed, the body is aware of its most economical state of being. This will empower you to be independent in establishing a state of health, and positive changes will occur even after you have completed your Rolfing sessions.

  2. Yes, the realization that you won't waste your money on something that stupid again.

And that it feels so good when they stop

  3. It depends on the Rolfer and you.  It has more to do with how ready and willing your body is to change.

Anything you do to the body externally in massage and bodywork only lasts as long as you make the internal changes to go along with the sessions.

I have been Rolfed probably 10 times and it doesn't last permanently - anyone who tells you that it will.  The internal changes are much harder to make and finding a good psychologist to work with can do just as much.
