14 Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

  1. I think that verse just means that death reigned over humanity before Christ conquered death. Interpreting that verse to mean that all mean died is over analyzing it a bit, I think. Just read that whole chapter together, and the context will become clearer.

  2. God's Devine Plan and Time is not over yet.  (Enoch and Elijah are to be the two witnesses in The Great Tribulation and WILL die.) Read Revelation again!

  3. Romans 5:14  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.

There is nowhere in the verse that says all men died.

There are people who will not died until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Matthew 16:28  Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.

  4. Elijah didnt die.  He took the chariot to heaven.  John didnt die, he's still roaming around somewhere, along with a few nephites.

Death was the rule, there were exceptions to it though.

  5. Enoch Died alright.Since Jesus said that No Man had Ascended into heaven prior to Jesus coming to Earth it is reasonable to Think then that Enoch would have been alive in Jesus Day.If he was not taken into heaven as some suggest  than he became a human having eternal life and would prob still be on this earth today- Common sense would suggest that - don't you agree?

  6. Death reigned in all men. If God did not take Enoch he would have died just like everyone else. He would not have  escaped death.

  7. Dear Friend,

Death did not take a holiday during the age when there was no law.  With the single exception of Enoch, death held sway over mankind.  You could not say that these people died because they had transgressed a clear command of God, as Adam did.  Why then did they die?  Because they had sinned "in" Adam.  If this seems unfair, remember that this has nothing to do with salvation.  All those who put their faith in the Lord were saved eternally. But...they died "physically" just the same, and the reason they died was because of the sin of their federal head...Adam!  In his role as federal head, Adam was a type (symbol) of Him who was to come...that is, the Lord Jesus Christ.  As you read further, Paul will develop the subject of these two federal heads, but more by contrast than by similarities.

  8. I'd agree with Gertystorrud...the two witnesses in the Book of Revelations, chapter 11 who will lay dead in the streets of Jerusalem for three and a half  days are thought to be Enoch and Elijah....the only two men in the Bible who did not die....thereby fulfilling the Word of God that ALL people will die and then face the Judgement. Enoch and Elijah were translated from earth to await their special time in history when they will fulfill God's prophecy.

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

  9. Obviously, everyone but, Enoch died.

    This is the reason:

Hbr 11:5 It was by faith that Enoch was taken up to heaven without dying--"suddenly he disappeared because God took him."* But before he was taken up, he was approved as pleasing to God.

Rom 1:17 This Good News tells us how God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, "It is through faith that a righteous person has life."*

Rom 3:27 Can we boast, then, that we have done anything to be accepted by God? No, because our acquittal is not based on our good deeds. It is based on our faith.

    ******

It is then true that Enoch had enough faith.

  10. Look into the meaning of the word and you'll find that he was "translated" from one place to another. He did die later.

  11. All of it is fiction.
