Question:

Does Ronald McDonald believe in recycling?

Having recently visited McDonalds I was curious why there didn't seem to be any interest in recycling in their restaurants. Food, wrappers, plastic etc seemed to just go into those flip sided bins.

From my observations by far the majority of visitors to McDonalds were the younger generation. Surely they are the generation who need to be aware of the importance of separating out different materials so that it can be recycled?

As far as I can see Ronald McDonald is keen that litter with his image on it does not end up blowing around the countryside, but he is not interested in recycling it.

Or do you know different?

  1. Good point made there, I thought the same this week whilst I was in a McDonald's, surely if they recycled even those happy meal boxes and paper bags, leaving off the useless paper they put on the trays, they could make a huge impact on recycling.

I don't think that Ronald and his Billions are much worried about global warming etc....

  2. It is the trap of "Fast" food.

The roman's first made burgers and called them ISICIA OMENTATA they also lived for the day and look where it got them.

  3. The best way to bring about a reduction in waste by MacDonald's is for people not to buy the carp that they sell and stay away from their outlets.

  4. No.

Real men only recycle their brass!

  5. Yes they do recycle the oil and they have changed the design of their food containers where they have more recycled cardboard in their food holders. As for anything you take out they figure that you are responsible for recycling the cardboard and the paper waste, cause they can't afford to follow everyone around and make sure they do it. And they do have trash bins you can put your empty stuff in, when I go I always bring my old stuff in a paper bag and put it in their disposal system. They also spent millions just like Wendy's to improve they recycle ables. Don't believe me go to the Wendy's site or mac do's and read on their web page what they do.

  6. I too have recently had this thought!. They could have several bins to encourage us you are so right!. I feel bad when I put all and sundry into one bin alone, as do you I feel.

  7. Yes! The oil used to fry food is recycled, if that what you meant.

    Thanks.

  8. As far as I'm aware, there are no fast food restaurants that do recycling bins. They're all just regular bins. If you're concerned about the environment, they leave it up to you to carry your empty boxes & drink cartons to the nearest recycling bins.

  9. you know.. your right.. XO
