  1. actually the russians and the chinese do not like each other, they never did despite china being communist, russia and china still have nukes targeting the other the U.S doesent currently have nukes targeting russia or china, and neither have nukes currently targeting us

  2. any body having problem with USA or China are allies with Russia

  3. CSTO (Collective Security Treaty Organization) is a military alliance that Russia has created. Under the CSTO charter, if any member nation is attacked, all other nations will help defend them.

The following nations would help Russia, and Russia would help them militarily as well:

    Members of CSTO:

    Armenia (2002)

    Belarus (2002)

    Kazakhstan (2002)

    Kyrgyzstan (2002)

    Tajikistan (2002)

    Uzbekistan (2006)

    Potential help:

    *Iran

    **China

*In addition Russia gave an informal invite to Iran last year. If Iran were to apply they would consider granting them membership (at least that was what the Russian politicians hinted at).

Iran also has strategic reasons for ensuring that Russia remains a power and that the CSTO alliance remains. Right now north western Iran is heavily populated by Azeri's (about the only thing stopping them from starting a war and territorial grab is Armenia atm). If Russia falls, Azerbaijan would declare war against Armenia, and defeat Armenia. If Armenia falls, there would be a war between Iran and Azerbaijan. Turkey would then probably see this as an opportunity to re-establish control of their Eastern border (which is heavily populated with Kurds). Unfortunately for Turkey, Kurds now have financial and military backing through Iraq and Iraq's government, this would undoubtedly involve a war between them.

**Russia and China have been conducting joint military exercises for quite awhile now, a potential future alliance between the two is likely.

Random: China and Russia have both been spreading their influence to northern Africa and South Africa. I am not saying that these African nations would assist Russia, but who knows what would happen in the future. (Note: South Africa has confirmed nuclear weapons).

Hope that helps a little :)

  4. The enemy of my enemy is my friend.  I forgot who originally said that but its true.

  5. Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Serbia, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Bulgaria, Venezuela, Iran, and China all have strong bonds politically/militarily. They have more, but I can't find any other source. Good question.

  6. According to the 1992 Collective Security Treaty, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan are allies with Russia. Might as well be by themselves..
